In partnership with several other volunteers and organizations, needed to raise $7 million for two young sisters who were diagnosed with a rare and 100% fatal disease. We only had a few months to find the scientists, raise the team, get FDA approval, and begin testing before the older sister would begin to lose significant motor function or pass away from Batten's Disease.
We partnered with the Challenged app, social media influencers, and Experiemnt.com and sent influencers to Puerto Rico where they filmed content to try and get Breaking Batten to trend. We had responses from Brian Cranston, Nash Grier, and other influencers. This was one piece of a very large campaign.
This campaign combined with events, television promotions, call-a-thons, celebrity endorsements, and large donors - the foundation was able to raise $7 million to get their daughters and four other young people suffering from this disease into treatment. The girls are currently on a long road to recovery, but they are still alive and have slowed and possibly stopped the growth of the disease.
